Our practice nurses will be pleased to offer advice to registered patients on vaccinations needed for travelling abroad.
However, many vaccinations needed for travel are not provided free of charge by the NHS and a charge will apply to cover the cost of the vaccine, the prescription charge and the consultation.
To allow adequate time before your travel for vaccines to take effect, you need to complete a travel questionnaire and make an appointment no less than two months before your travel date.
- If you fall ill on your return, don’t forget to tell your GP where you have been and whether you have had treatment whilst abroad. Also, if you are donating blood, you will need to tell the transfusion staff where you have been.
